How do I help a customer log in? Sending a login nudge
Quick answer: Go to Customers → Customer List. To remind one customer, open the ⋯ menu on their row and choose Nudge to log in. To remind a whole group, open a tab (for example No orders) and click Nudge to log in at the top. Nobody’s password is changed.
What the customer receives
A short email, sent in your business’s name, telling them they’re set up to order from you online. It includes a link to set a password (or reset a forgotten one). The link works for 6 hours. Nothing about their account changes unless they use it.
This matters because a venue uses one login for all its suppliers. A nudge can’t lock them out of anyone else.
Nudge one customer
- Go to Customers → Customer List and find the customer.
- Open the ⋯ menu at the end of their row and choose Nudge to log in.
- Check the email address shown and click Send nudge.
For a customer still in Draft, the same menu item reads Send invite instead. That creates their login and emails it. After that you can no longer edit their business name or email address.
Nudge a whole tab
The tab you’re on is the audience. The button acts on exactly the customers the list is showing, including any search you’ve typed.
- Pick a tab, such as No orders or Invite sent.
- Click Nudge to log in in the header.
- Check the summary: Audience (the tab and how many customers), Will receive it, and Skipped.
- Click Send to email them.
Why some customers are skipped
- They were nudged in the last 7 days.
- They’ve turned these emails off.
- They have no email address, or no account attached.
- They haven’t been invited yet — use Send invite for those.
Tip: the No orders tab is usually the right audience. If a customer has logged in and still isn’t ordering, a phone call will often do more than another email.
