How do I bring my Shopify store orders into Open Pantry?
Quick answer: On Enterprise you can connect your Shopify store yourself. Go to Orders → Imported Orders, open the settings (gear) icon, choose the Payments tab and click Connect Shopify under Your order channels. New Shopify orders then arrive in Imported Orders by themselves.
Connecting your store
- Go to Orders → Imported Orders and click the gear icon at the top right. The Imported Order Settings window opens.
- Choose the Payments tab and scroll to Your order channels.
- On the Shopify row, click Connect Shopify.
- Type your store address, for example mystore.myshopify.com, and click Continue.
- Shopify opens its own approval screen. Approve it there. Your Shopify login is never shared with Open Pantry.
Once you’re back, the row shows Being set up and “Open Pantry is finishing the setup”. We finish the last step with you, then the row changes to Active and shows the date of your last Shopify order.
Plan: Shopify is an Enterprise channel. On other plans the row shows an Enterprise chip and you can book a call to switch it on.
Don’t see a Payments tab? Billing for AI order importing isn’t switched on for your account yet. Email info@theopenpantry.com and we’ll turn it on.
What happens to each Shopify order
- It appears in Imported Orders with a Shopify badge. You can filter the list by it.
- Each line is matched on its SKU. The Shopify SKU must exactly match the Product Code on your Open Pantry product. Titles are not used for matching.
- If every line matches, the order becomes a normal order straight away and goes on to Pick & Pack.
- If even one line doesn’t match, the whole order waits in Pending Review for you to check.
- If the buyer is already one of your customers, the order goes on their account. Otherwise it goes on your store’s shared web-shop customer, but keeps the buyer’s own name and delivery address. No new customers are created automatically.
- The delivery fee comes from the shipping the buyer paid in Shopify.
- The buyer has already paid and been emailed by Shopify, so Open Pantry doesn’t charge them or send its own order confirmation.
Tip: custom items in Shopify have no SKU, so they always go to review. Give every product a SKU that matches your product code to keep orders flowing through untouched.
What it costs
Shopify orders use your import credit at a lower per-order rate than emailed orders, because nothing needs to be read by AI. Only orders that are processed are charged. Your balance and history are on the same Payments tab.
Other order channels
WhatsApp, SMS, voicemail and EDI are listed in the same place. Click Request activation on a row and Open Pantry sets it up for you, usually within 1 business day. The row shows Requested until it’s live. EDI is also an Enterprise channel.
